William Finner Adams Jr.

William “Bill” Finner Adams Jr. was born Jan. 15, 1931 in Geronimo to William Finner and Cora Lee (Coulter) Adams. He passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, at his home near Duncan with his family at his side. He was 91.

Services were scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 1:30P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Teague officiating. Military honors were presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders. Serving as pallbearers were JR Kraus, Troy Beeson, Roy Adams, Bobby Odell Standridge, Clayton Kraus, and Chase Kraus. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby James, Evan Torrez, Amon Torrez, Jeffrey Standridge, James Wooten, Tyler Self, Chuck Oxford, and Duane Kershaw. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.

Bill owned Adams’ Garage for 29 years. He loved being a mechanic. He also enjoyed farming and taking care of his yard. He was a lifelong farmer and had worked as a mechanic for 37 years. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards. As pie was his favorite food, he only like two kinds ... hot and cold. He married Nila Adams on Feb. 14, 2010. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Elk Avenue Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nelda Adams; brother, James Adams; and infant sister, May Elma.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nila; children: Garry and wife Cindy Adams of Duncan; Larry Adams of Comanche; Jo Ann Solomon of Comanche; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; stepchildren: Trudie and husband Duane Kershaw of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Peggi and husband Chuck Oxford of Ratliff City, Troy Beeson of Duncan; brothers: Russel and wife Ruth Adams of El Reno; Ernest and wife Treva Adams of Duncan; Glenden and wife Judy Adams of Crane, Missouri; Leslie Adams of Florida; sister, Mary Duvall of Duncan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
