Lady Indians take third at El Reno tournament
The Comanche softball team has opened the season with a 4-2 record under their new head coach. Over the weekend, the Lady Indians won three out of four games to take third place at a tournament in El Reno that included a big win over county rival Duncan.
Comanche coach Jen White was happy with the way her team bounced back after a bad loss in their second game Friday.
“The first game we played really well; the second game not so well,” White said. “We didn’t make a whole lot of errors, but our pitching kind of left the ball a little too much over the plate and El Reno was just cranking it and we ended up getting smoked. And then we had a little talk and they came out Saturday like a whole different team. They were playing together and having a good time.”
The coach is seeing steady improvement every game.
“I think we are getting there,” White said. “I think the girls get a little bit better each and every day. They’re working hard. I can’t complain. I think we are going in the right direction for sure.”
