Lady Indians blow by Marietta in doubleheader

The Comanche softball team picked up a pair of big district wins with lopsided victories over visiting Marietta last Tuesday.

Spurred by a three-run homer by Bre Gill, the Lady Indians jumped out early and pulled away from Marietta.
Comanche scored five runs in the first inning and one more in the second, followd by four in the third to take a 10-0 lead.
Marietta avoided the run-rule with three runs in the top of the fourth, but Comanche came right back in the bottom half of the inning and got the runs back to end the game.
Gill added a double in the game. She was one of seven Comanche players to get an extra-base hit. Mykayla Slovak had a pair of doubles and Caity Ramsey, Cloey Kinkade, Addison Downey, Jaylee Roebuck and Josey Harris all had a double.
Kinkade was the winning pitcher for Comanche, tossing four innings, while surrendering three runs, no earned runs, one walk and striking out two.
Game Two

Marietta 3
Comanche pounded out 16 hits and took advantage of 11 walks issued by Marietta pitching to blow past Marietta and sweep the doubleheader.
Comanche scored 17 runs in the first inning and nine in the second to put the game away.
Josey Harris had a pair of three-run doubles to drive in six runs in the contest. Mykayla Slovak had two doubles and drove in five runs. Jentry Whaley, Bre Gill, Jaylee Roebuck and Cloey Kinkade had two hits each. Raylee Chaney had a triple and scored four runs.
Whaley was the inning pitcher, giving up two hits, three runs and no earned runs, while walking one and striking out six.
