Morgan death featured on NBC News website
Under the headline “Daughters fighting for justice in 1988 murder of Oklahoma woman Mary Morgan Pewitt,” NBC news is the latest media outlet to show interest in the decades old Comanche cold case.
Under the heading of “Cold Case Spotlight,” the organization lays out the case that has been all too familiar to many in the Comanche area.
The article goes into the background of the murder, the discovery of the body as they interview her daughters Kira Lowe and Amber Benson as they tell their story and their mother’s story.
The article notes that the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating her death. However, when Dateline reached out to the OSBI on the latest in the investigation, they were told at that time they had no investigators who could speak about the case.
The sisters just want the case resolved.
“Everybody says, ‘Well, what is justice for you,” Kira is quoted in the article as saying. “I don’t need somebody to go to trial, I just need to know what happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the OSBI at 800-522-8017 or email tips@osbi.ok.gov.
