Comanche falls on road at Davis
DAVIS - Comanche’s offense was never able to get on track in the first half and Davis took advantage, securing a 42-7 district win over the Indians last Friday.
Comanche did not pick up its initial first down until its opening drive of the third quarter. The Wolves scored on six of their first-half possessions to take a 42-0 halftime lead, scoring three touchdowns each in the first and second quarters.
The Indians did show some resolve despite the deficit as they would get on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter on an 18-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Colby Shannon to receiver Cooper Dobbins. It capped off a 71-yard drive by the Indians.
With two district games remaining Comanche (2-6 overall, 1-4 2A-II District 1) has been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Indians will host the Community Christian School Royals (4-4, 3-2) for the final home game of the season. It will be Senior Night with football, band, cheer and cross country seniors recognized.
Comanche will close out the season next week on the road at Holdenville.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
