Helen Louise Jones

Helen Louise Jones, age 95, a longtime resident of Duncan, peacefully passed away on Thursday evening, Aug. 25, 2022. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, with Pastor Clayton Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan City Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. The visitation will be Monday 6 - 8 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church.
Helen was born on Jan. 3, 1927, in Durant to Alton B. and Delia (Koonce) Trout. She and Samuel Morris Lee Jones were united in marriage on Feb. 12, 1945, in Durant. They came to Duncan in 1949. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, and camping. Her favorite pastime was playing the upright bass in the bluegrass band, The Bluegrass Trailblazers. Helen was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Robert Jones Sr. and wife Shernell, Duncan; Mike Jones and wife Mary, Sherman, Texas; Linda Treece and husband Wayne, Comanche; Randy Jones, Duncan, OK; and Lisha Henderson and husband Joel, Foster; 13 grandchildren: Robert Jones Jr, Raquel Skidmore, Shannon Jones, Monica Lynch, Tammy Reid, Aundrea Welch, Summer Byrd, Megan Bennett, Randi Whaley, Brandi Rhodes, Jetty Gordon, Samuel Henderson, and Jacob Henderson; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; her parents, Alton Trout and Delia Rackley; and two sisters, Billie Dickover and Vetress Holt.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Jones Jr., Bobby Whaley, William Gordon, Joel “Samuel” Henderson, Jacob Henderson, and Gary Skidmore. Honorary bearers will be Shannon Jones, Justin Byrd, Sean Welch, and Dickey Lynch.
