Independence Day celebration

The Comanche Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 6, at Comanche Lake in the area below the dam.

The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will include games, face painting, Bingo, music, vendors, food trucks, bounce houses and contests.

There will be a fireworks display near the lake at dusk.

Visitors are cautioned to only park in the designated areas.

“We are very excited to bring this daytime event back,” said Laura Lewis, chamber president. “It has been a learning experience, but we are learning to make it better. We cannot wait to see what we have helped build it up to over the next few years. My biggest goal is for our community to make memories in our town. I want that for my family and I know so many people who feel the same.”
