Sheriff forum to be held Monday at First Baptist of Comanche

There will be a new sheriff in town after current sheriff Wayne McKinney announced he would not be seeking re-election.

Two candidates filed in April to replace McKinney - current undersheriff Rick Lang and former Comanche police chief Bill Straily.

The two candidates will meet for a forum sponsored by the Comanche Times on Monday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Comanche fellowship hall.

Former Duncan Chamber of Commerce CEO Chris Deal will be the moderator.

The candidates will introduce themselves, take questions from the moderator and also will take written questions from the audience.

Both candidates are running as Republicans, so the June 18 Republican primary winner will be the new sheriff sworn into office in January.
